The Florida Institute for Neurologic Rehabilitation, Inc.
(FINR) is a private, for-profit rehabilitation facility located on 900 acres
in Central Florida. FINR specializes in the treatment of children and
adults with traumatic brain injury or another form of neurologic
impairment, especially those with behavioral difficulties. Before being
converted to a specialized brain injury program the site was owned by a
phosphate mining company as a hunting/fishing lodge where they used to breed
quarter horses in what is now the Cypress administration building.
Construction began on the Administration building to accommodate increased
census growth in the fall of 1989. The pediatric school and residences were
built to meet the needs of the pediatric population in 1988. FINR was
incorporated in July of 1992. Since it’s inception, FINR has grown from a 65
bed facility with 25 clients to be one of the largest facilities in the
country offering services to this special community. |
