B.P. has recently been admitted to the Florida Institute because of extreme fluctuation in his behavior, including hallucinations and speaking to non-existent people. Even though these behaviors can be treated with medication they are also a result of B.P.'s need to control his environment. These behaviors at times, are used to escape or avoid accomplishing tasks upon request, to acquire attention of others, or to obtain preferred items or activities. B.P.'s therapy will address the reduction of inappropriate behaviors through time out, planned ignoring or redirection techniques and medication adjustment. |
